Spreadsheet consists of data collected for the publication "Local-scale attributes determine the suitability of woodland creation sites for Diptera" published in Journal of Applied Ecology. For each site (column A) surveyed, metrics of abundance and species richness for both woodland-associated and non woodland-associated hoverflies and cranefiles are shown in columns B-I. Characteristics of each woodland are provided in columns K-T (TreeDBH.StDev = the standard deviation of tree diameter at breast height). Characteristics of the landscape surrounding each woodland at different spatial scales (from 250-2000m) are provided in columns U-AG.en_GB
