Woodland creation and Ecological Networks (WrEN) project vegetation development dataset

Title: Woodland creation and Ecological Networks (WrEN) project vegetation development dataset
Dataset Description (Abstract): Dataset associated with paper Fuentes-Montemayor E, Park KJ, Cordts K & Watts K (2022) "The long-term development of temperate woodland creation sites: from tree saplings to mature woodlands" Forestry: 95(1), 28-37. Dataset contains information on size, age, development stage, and vegetation structural attributes of 106 woodland creation sites and 27 ancient woodland sites in England and Scotland, which form part of the Woodland creation and Ecological Networks project (WrEN; http://wren-project.com/). Vegetation structural attributes were quantified from field surveys along an edge-to-interior transect in each woodland in the summers of 2013 and 2014.

Rhizosphere Priming Effects on Ancient Peat Carbon (PRIMETIME)

Title: Rhizosphere Priming Effects on Ancient Peat Carbon (PRIMETIME)
Dataset Description (Abstract): Three small datasets were used in the manuscript "Quantifying rhizosphere priming effects on soil organic matter decomposition in situ in a subarctic ecotone using natural abundance radiocarbon". The goal of the project was to ascertain if we could measure priming in situ (i.e. using root ingrowth or exclusion soil cores and girdling). Measurements of radiocarbon content from CO2 collections and DOC, CO2 efflux, DOC concentration, root biomass in the cores, soil temperature and soil moisture were conducted at the end of July 2021 in Abisko, Northern Sweden as part of a NERC UKRI funded project. Rmarkdown code is included to demonstrate the analysis.

Title: Supplementary materials for ‘Spectral authenticity and the fate of the Stone of Destiny’ (Heritage and Society journal)
Dataset Description (Abstract): Detailed list (16 pages) of the primary sources consulted or created by authors SF and EN and that underpin their research findings for specified journal article. There are separate listings for: archival sources (National Records of Scotland files, National Records of Scotland - key documents); ethnographic interviews (conducted around Westminster Abbey, Edinburgh Castle, Perth Museum, Scone Abbey and elsewhere); published sources (academic sources, antiquarian sources, biographical accounts, guidebooks, institutional sources, magazine articles, newspapers and social media); novels; online sources; poetry (political/satirical); political songs; popular history books; radio programmes; religious writings.

Exploring Values of Marine Cultural Heritage _ A Qualtrics Survey

Title: Exploring Values of Marine Cultural Heritage _ A Qualtrics Survey
Dataset Description (Abstract): This dataset contains respondent-level data from a nationwide online survey of adults in England examining perceptions and values relating to marine natural and cultural heritage. The survey was administered using Qualtrics.

The dataset includes responses on ocean engagement and connection, perceptions of natural and cultural marine heritage (including their importance and interrelationships), awareness and interaction with shipwrecks, and socio-demographic characteristics.

It also includes data from a discrete choice experiment (DCE) in which respondents completed repeated choice tasks evaluating alternative shipwreck management programmes varying in cultural heritage safeguarding, natural heritage protection, public engagement, and associated annual costs.

The dataset is structured at the respondent level and includes attitudinal, behavioural, demographic, and stated preference (choice) data suitable for analysing public preferences and trade-offs in marine heritage management.
